RIVERS

Associated Press reporter Katherine Hourled who spoke via live phone-in to STV news reports that ballot boxes were being stuffed in Okrika Area even though there was no visible voting happening. In Ogoni there was also no INEC officials and ballot boxes at designated polling booths. See her full report HERE

ANAMBRA

Armed men burnt the INEC office in Onitsha. Our reporter confirms that hoodlums threw Molotov cocktails into the office. In Onitsha south, some youths abducted some INEC officials in protest against the late arrival of electoral materials. Dr. Chris Ngige's name was conspicuously missing from the ballot as directed by INEC. However the names of Ibrahim Bapitel of AC in Adamawa and Abubaka Audu of ANPP in Kogi who were disqualified by INEC at the eleventh hour (literaly Friday) were ofcourse still on the ballot paper (duh!!!)

INFORMATION FROM TEXT SENT TO 'HOTLENS'HOTLINE INSTEAD OF THE NEWSLINE. Only saw it when I went home (nigerians...sighs and shakes head)

In Edo state popular activist Mike Ozekhome was beaten and arrested by the police after arms were found on him.

7.30pm update

PRESIDENT OLUSEGUN OBASANJO IS DESCRIBING TODAY’S ELECTION AS SATISFACTORY. HE SPOKE AFTER CASTING HIS VOTE AT THE ANGLICAN SECONDARY SCHOOL ITA-EKO, OGUN STATE. THE NATION’S NUMBER ONE CITIZEN, SAID GOVERNMENT HAD DONE ALL WITHIN ITS POWER TO ENSURE A PEACEFUL POLLS.

ALLEGATIONS AND COUNTER ALLEGATIONS HAVE STARTED TRAILING TODAY’S ELECTIONS. THE PEOPLE’S DEMOCRATIC PARTY GOVERNORSHIP CANDIDATE IN LAGOS STATE – SENATOR MUSILIU OBANIKORO IS ACCUSING THE ACTION CONGRESS OF MANIPULATING THE VOTING PROCESS. SENATOR OBANIKORO WHILE SPEAKING WITH REPORTERS AFTER CASTING HIS VOTE SAID SOME HIRED HOODLUMS IN SOME PARTS OF THE STATE CARTED AWAY BALLOT BOXES ALREADY FILLED WITH PAPERS.

*******************************************************
HERE'S WHAT I AM ABLE TO GET TO YOU RIGHT NOW AT 4.35PM NIGERIAN TIME THROUGH SILVERBIRD TELEVISION AND RHYTHM 93.7FM REPORTERS ACROSS NIGERIA

LAGOS STATE
Today's election did not start at 8am as scheduled because of the late arrival of INEC officials. This led INEC chairman, Prof.Maurice Iwu to extend voting beyond the 3pm deadline. In Surulere, unlike most parts of Lagos, voting started relatively ealy. As early as 9am. This is attributed to the fact that the local government and local INEC officers started distributing materials at 10pm Friday night. Somolu, Mushin, Ikorodu, Badagry, Iyana-Ipaja, Alagbado and Ebute-Metta were generall peaceful for most of the day.
The omission of the pictures of ten governorship candidates including front runners Jimi Agbaje and Mrs. Uche Ibukun-Ohimai raised some red flags and had people reacting. Agabje speaking on STV's special broadcast said the omission was mischeivious and that it could affect his chances in the election. But Lagos resident electoral commissioner, Moses Ogbe said the omission was not deliberate. Ogbe describe today's election as peaceful with 'MINOR' hitches (cough)

Security was also very tight in Lagos with the heavy presence of armed militar men, who were even preventing voters and INEC officials from geting to the polling centers with their strategically located road blocks. In Lagos Island, there are reports that two ballot boxes were snatched by hoodlums in Ebute-Elefun. Many people also could not find their names and numbers on teh shoddy voters register and therefore could not vote.

EDO
In Beninn City armed yoths snatched two ballot boxes from INEC officials. A similar incident happened in Fugar but the culprits, four of them were arrested by police. The governorship election in Edo state is a straight fight between AC candidate Adams Oshiomhole and PDP candidate Senator Osarheimen Osunbor

OYO
The election was characterized by violence in parts of Oyo state. Two people were reportedly killed in the Challenge area of Ibadan. A PDP cheifatin was apprehended by military officers armed with guns and ammunition. Hoodlums also made away with some ballot boxes in teh Ogbomosho area. Unknown gunmen kidnapped AC cheiftan in the area Akin Oke. Ogbomosho is home to PDP governorship candidate Adebayo Alao Akala.

RIVERS

3 police stations were burned down by militants and about 6 police men killed.

Na wa for Imo. I just spoke to my Mumsie in Imo and she said Martin Agbaso won governership b/c he was basically uncontested and things have been peaceful. Now I hear this. In fact, all of this is such a big shame on our country. I am interested in hearing more about Imo, Enugu, and Lagos State. Keep up the great work Addy!

    Situation updates in Edo state:
14 of 18 local governments on by PDP.
2 local governments won by Ac. Results for Oredo and Ikpoba Oka LGA's cancelled as too unbelievable. Prof Osunbor & Lucky Imasuen victorius. INEC has delayed announcing results due to security as youths threatening violence. We believe they are awaiting miliary reenforcements. Lucky Igbinedion is no where to be found as he apparently reportedlybacked AC's Oshiomole.
This is first hand info......Reporting from Edo State, ....TD Ogieva

Why Is this happening to my people. How long will they continue to live in retrogressional slavery in the shackles of these Butchers in Bagdad. These agent of darkness manifest occultic disposition and they had persistently held the state backward in developmental moves. These ancient marauding beast killed Ambrose Ali, they hate peace. This ancient dog even hate his people. I mean his blood brothers.

Tony Anenih, Ogbemudia and the entire PDP pillars, I urge you to desist from ur evil inclination else face distruction!!!!

Remember, depriving the people of their mandate will only lead to the alienation and ultimate declaration of doom on your posterity.

    More Edo news:
INEC Declares Edo state won by PDP.
Central benin saw some demonstrations, but thankfully no burning of buildings, killings etc. some teargassing by police to apparently control crowds etc, but o reported deaths or shootings, thank God. Generally suburbs and hinterlands are relatively peacefull. the Inside gist is that the AC party apparently neglected the rural arears and concentrated on central benin in their campaniging / distribution of money. The PDP people were much smarter and covered a much wider breadth of the hinterlands, hence their powerfull showing. Both sides rigged where they could, but credit to INEC, they did disqualify outrageous results, and allowed observers from the major parties. The interesting twist to the story is that Governor lucky igbinedion of edo, apparently placed a lot of pdp henchmen under house arrest as he was backing Adams Oshiomole, the labour leader and AC candidate. This backfired as the foot soldiers ensured that they took control of their zones.
On a lighter note, the comming to power of prof Osunbor (governor elect) and Lucky imasuen (Previously us based successfull business man) may be a good thing. At least any thing will be better than the igbinedions. Our hearts however goes out to the labour leader who was favoured by the working mases........Reporting from benin....TD Ogieva

    Roulette Rules and Information

Online Roulette Some people like the bright lights of Las Vegas. They book their room in the Flamingo, fly down, see some shows, eat at the Vegas buffets, and bet a little money on the roulette wheel. However, this is an expensive, once a year type proposition. What happens if you are bored one night, and want to play some roulette, right there and right then? Booking a red eye flight to Vegas isn't an option. This is exactly the reason why playing at online casinos has sky-rocketed in popularity over the last few years. It's fun, it's quick, and it mimicks the real life experience of playing at a real casino. Why play roulette online instead of at a real casino? As I already mentioned, the cost of playing at Vegas is much higher. You have your room fee, your plane ticket, the cost of eating out while there, etc. It is very expensive. However, playing online is free. You can play at 3 am in the morning, while dressed in your bathrobe, eating a bowl full of popcorn. No one will rush you; you can take 20 minutes to place your next bets. You can have a notebook full of roulette strategies in front of you and no one will hassle you. The allure of the online casino is the convenience and ease of use.
