RETRACTION OF 'WEDDING FEVER IS OFFICIALLY BACK' POST

It's been brought to my attention that the above post has unfortunately been UTTERLY MISCONSTRUED and MISINTERPRETED and thus out of respect to the bride and groom I've decided to take it down. The intent of the post was to honor the wedding on my blog as I have done with others in the past and not to cause grief or disrespect to anyone. Especially not to the bride or groom, for whom this was a very special day. I understand that many readers are still getting used to my style of writing and my form of expession and may not have appreciated my description and humor. My apologies if any was directly offended. Having said that, I would like to reiterate the fact that this is a blog; an online diary, a public journal of personal views, opinions and interpretation. It's the world as Adaure sees it. I do enough self censorship as it is and the essence of blogging will be lost if I have to 'Mind My Language' all the time and worry about intent and purpose being mangled in misinterpretation. I will make an exception in this case ONLY as a sign of respect to Walter and Udo and because the intent, the essence and the humor has been miscontrued. This does not open the flood gates of retraction requests. Once again Adaure (that would be me...over here...yeah...Hi )and all her blog readers (that wuld be the rest of you) are wishing the couple a wonderful and happy married life....7X7X7 in years and KIDS too. Cheers guys (ok... easy up now... ya'll can put the gloves down... how 'bout some beer eh!)

To blog you really need a thick-skin. To blog to a predominantly Nigerian audience, you need even thicker skin. It seems like you had a rough week. Hang in there and keep up the great work. You are an inspiration and a joy to read.

HEY ADAURE DONT KNOW YOU PERSONALLY BUT I READ YOUR BLOG AS OFTEN AS I CAN CAUSE UR TAKE ON LIFE ISSUES AS THEY COME IS EXTREMELY ENTERTAINING AND REFRESHING. PLEASE DO NOT LET IDIOTS WHO DONT GET YOUR HUMOR GET TO U. AS THEY SAY ONE MAN'S MEAT IS ANOTHER MAN'S POISON. SO ALL THOSE HATERS OUT THERE TAKE UR POISONOUS SELVES AWAY FROM HER BLOG. HOW CAN YOU DISRESPECT THIS WONDERFUL YOUNG LADY WHO HAS NOTHING BUT LOVE FOR THOSE SHE WRITES ABOUT AND MAKE IT SEEM AS IF SHE IS JEALOUS. JUST BECAUSE SHE ISNT MARRIED YET DOESNT MEAN HER LIFE ISNT FULFILLED. SHE IS ACCOMPLISHING ALL SHE WANTS TO IN LIFE AND MORE. AND GOD WILL CONTINUE TO ORDER HER STEPS SO THAT SHE ACCOMPLISHES EVEN GREATER THINGS. GIRL HOLD YOUR HEAD HIGH AND DONT LET ANY ONE BRING YOU DOWN EVER!!!

weird, but not surprising - nigerians are a trip! for people who can laugh at so much in life, so many of us (or should i say, them) have such a stunted sense of humor. fuck 'em, man - you're funny and you don't mean anyone harm. if they can't see that, they don't need to read your blog. assholes.

I read the post, i did not see anything wrong with your narration of the wedding. You had nothing but best wishes for the bride and groom. You mentioned them being together for 7 years b4 they got married and you asked IMHO a rhetorical question about if you will have to wait 7 years also. I thought you were joking. So what happened and what went wrong? You did not say anything negative about anyone. It read all fun and light. I don't think you should have pulled that post. You should have left it as well as your retraction so others could see you did not mean any harm. Removing the post might send the wrong message that you indeed admit you wrote something wrong. I read it, I laughed, and I was disappointed that there was no website or pictures to go with that post. People who left comments about having faith and not worrying, I thought were focusing on something else. I read it the way you intended i'm sure. Big wedding, lots of laugh, having fun, end of. Obviously, someone is out to cause you some discomfort, re the 3 brothers comments. Let it slide. Just my opinion.

Peace and Love, Reader in Toronto.

It's amazing nigerians have alot of comedy running on their streets everyday yet cant seem to take a joke..!

They are so full of "respect" mentality ...they mostly have "nothing" to show for it.

Adaure, it took u alot to get to where you are dont tell any mediocre come close..!

l can assure u the likes of "anony 4.52pm" are your everyday pple...but trust me you need them to ride up...

Addy!
U've written about several weddings that u have been to....
And u particularly go into details about how the whole events went.....(ADDY STYLE...lol)...
I remember that u did an excellent story on Rotola and Deji's wedding last year....I know this 'cos I was there....and u couldn't have describe the events any better...

Whatever happened in regard to this write up....don't let it discourage u from blogging about weddings.
Take care of u....

Jesus take the wheel!
I read the post and didnt see anything wrong with it. I guess whatever makes the couple happy but I am sure they were not even the ones that got upset...it was probably some jobless 'look at mes' that went to miscommunicate the whole thingey...
oh well.......
I just went through a similar thing with some facebook pics on my personal facebook ooo.
Sometimes we nigerians can squeez, marinate and brew drama from a stone!

Cheetarah said...

Why on earth did u take it down, its ur blog girl.I enjoyed that post, yeah silent reader! But I guess if the bride and groom didnt like it u hafta respect them. My motto- No more drama abeg!

Who the hell is that 5th writer,by name anonymous. You fool. Why are u reading the blog. Pls mind ur business. She did a gracious thing and removed the entry.I am sure u are not married or neva will with that bad attitude.

Anonymous said...

Anon @ 3.34 i hate to say this but your comment is just as bad as the anon's. When you respond to insults with insults do you expect a resolution? All drama.
And am i the only one who is tired of the "...Nigerians ..."(always something negative)general statements?
People are people, sometimes we wonder about the negative image we have abroad as Nigerians and we chuck it down to the 419 et al people. Sometimes we 'civilians'do all the work to help promote the negative stereotypes ourselves.Food for thought i hope.

Joy.Toronto.

P.s. I read that post and saw nothing wrong with it.If i had, trust, i will let you know.

Adaure,

First of all, dont mind them, whoever those people are. You wrote an interesting piece and believe me, what you wrote is way better than some of the comments I saw on the facebook album of the same wedding!!! People need to take a hike.

On another note, "WILL YOU MARRY ME" I have a ring ready! :)

haters will always be haters.. i know the likes of those who didnt like the post and they are FAKE and obnoxious peeps with their noses way up their asses.. !!! they need to lighten up and see that the world will become a better place afterwards..
adaure is well admired and as can been seen from the above comments, her readers know her style of writing and love reading her blog as she means no harm in sharing and communicating experiences and events through her eyes..

the fact that she even took the post down as a sign of respect IF indeed the bride n groom were offended by her light and comical interpretation of the wedding ( which she praised to the high heavens); shows what kind of a person she truly is..
Addy !dont change for anything.. carry go ....

How to Play Roulette Online
The Various Roulette Bets and Rules
Roulette and the House Edge
Betting methods of Roulette
Roulette Rules and Information

Online Roulette Some people like the bright lights of Las Vegas. They book their room in the Flamingo, fly down, see some shows, eat at the Vegas buffets, and bet a little money on the roulette wheel. However, this is an expensive, once a year type proposition. What happens if you are bored one night, and want to play some roulette, right there and right then? Booking a red eye flight to Vegas isn't an option. This is exactly the reason why playing at online casinos has sky-rocketed in popularity over the last few years. It's fun, it's quick, and it mimicks the real life experience of playing at a real casino. Why play roulette online instead of at a real casino? As I already mentioned, the cost of playing at Vegas is much higher. You have your room fee, your plane ticket, the cost of eating out while there, etc. It is very expensive. However, playing online is free. You can play at 3 am in the morning, while dressed in your bathrobe, eating a bowl full of popcorn. No one will rush you; you can take 20 minutes to place your next bets. You can have a notebook full of roulette strategies in front of you and no one will hassle you. The allure of the online casino is the convenience and ease of use.
